Maureen Hamill

Cabaret Theater Performer

Maureen grew up in Connecticut and until she was 17, the only person who knew she could sing was herself. She was a stand-in for an ill singer on "Silent Night" and that was her big debut!

As a senior in high school, she auditioned for three music conservatories and accepted to all and chose the Boston conservatory. Having no previous formal voice training and no ambition to become an opera singer, she left Boston within three weeks and joined the University of Bridgeport where she graduated.

While in college, Maureen joined the Sacred Heart University Cabaret Theater. Out of that group came people like Patty Hemenway, who sang 'Evita' on the national tour, Arthur Howard who was Broadway's "Magic Show", an John Ratzenberger, who plays Cliff the mailman on "Cheers".

She learned how to produce over a period of eight years and formed Hamill Productions. Maureen has written, directed and performed in many theatrical productions in Connecticut and nationwide.

Her directorial credits are Broadway Moments, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Jesus Christ Superstar, Man of LaMancha, Annie, Anything Goes, The Sound of Music, Music Man, Guys & Dolls, Tintypes, Jerry's Girls, Side by Side by Sondheim, My Fair Lady, Jaques Brel, Forum, and Same Time Nest Year.

She performed locally at the Edgerton Center, the Westport Country Playhouse, the Downtown Cabaret Theater, and at the Ivoryton Playhouse.

She has also had leading roles in Max Showalter's, Touch of the Child, and the New York production of The Cole Porter Review directed by Morton DeCosta, and Try this on your Piano.

Maureen's original shows include Thanks for the Memories 1945, Millennium Melodies, It's a Wrap, Toob Time, Positively Porter, I'll be Seeing You and Broadway Moments.
